At the end of their first month at Columbia J-School, students are expected to produce a short audio slideshow to demonstrate the basic skills they acquired in audio and photo reporting. Below is my slideshow. It is about a football (Americans call it “soccer”) player who immigrated from Ecuador ten years ago.
What do you think?
It needs to be slowed down, and transitions need to be added, perhaps fading. Right now, it looks like you tried to chop up a video, and that’s not the goal of an audio slideshow. I’d look at the New York Times website for help as they do a pretty good job with audio slideshows.
I love how you incorporated action shots as well as ones of camaraderie and emotion with the audio. I enjoyed it!
Although I’m American, I only discovered this year why we call this sport soccer instead of football! :D
