  1. Got it but can he use it? because in the US its with AT&T thats giving the phone service.. its not even here in Canada. Could you give us an update if he was able to use it with a Saudi cell phone service.. very intrested in knowing.

  2. He can’t use the phone function, but all other functions can be used. As far as I know, hackers are only days away from breaking the iPhone out of AT&T jail, so let’s wait and see.

  4. one more thing, if the above picture is from saudi arabia, then the guy using it must have a contract with AT&T or Cingular…

  7. هو فعلا هاتف جميل و لكن أنا انصح كل شخص بيشتريه يشوف عيوبه و يقارنه مثلا بالان95 نوكيا …

    من العيوب الي فيه:
    -كيمرته تصور فيديو بس ما تخزن
    -الكاميرا الي فيه ما تقدر تعدل مثلا الوضعية او فيه خيارات ( تصوير ليلي او تصوير مقرب او زوم ) مافيها خيارات ابدا ,, بس صور و خلاص
    -كيمرته رديئة جدا .. 2 ميقابكسل فقط .. الناس وصلت 7 و هم بعدهم 2
    -ما يرسل ام ام اس
    -مافيه نفيقشن
    -كتابة الرسائل فيه معقدة
    -ما فيه لغة عربية
    -ما في انفراريد
    -البطارية ما تتبدل ,, تعتبر جزء من الجهاز مثل الايبود
    -ما يتركبله برامج او ابليكشنز ..
    -المتصفح الي فيه سفاري ,, غير أمن و جديد .. كان المفروض يستخدمون فايرفوكس أو أوبرا.
    -الهاتف لا يدعم الفلاش أو الجافا
    -مساحته فقط 4 او 8 قيقابايت ( ال 4 قيقا سعره 500 دولار و ال 8 قيقا 600 دولار)
    -التصفح فيه بطيء جدا حتى لو قريب من الوايرليس و المتصفح ما يدعم نسخ او لصق الكلام و ما تقدر تسوي سيف للصور
    -ما تقدر تحط رنات من عندك ( مثال اغنية محمد عبده-الاماكن)
    -الرنات الأصلية سخيفة جدا
    -الطريقة الي تحط فيها الsim card و المكان معقد و غبي
    -ما تقدر تتصل عن طريق الصوت او تعطي اوامر عن طريق الصوت
    -ما فيه ألعاب
    -ما فيه speed dialing
    -ما فيه خدمة الجيل الثالث 3G

    طبعا في عيوب اكثر و أنا مجرب الهاتف شخصيا الي يملكه صديقي في أمريكا و إلي يتابع البلقوات الانقليزية بيحصل أكثر عن موضوع كاتبين فيه فشل الاي فون .. بس مالي خاطر اكتب تعبير عن هاتف تافه, بعد كل هاذي العيوب ,, تريدني أشتريه ؟؟
    تلفوني nokia N73 أحسن منه.

  8. Hey pal,, Thats quiet some action.. I got my iphone today.. This thing doen’t work.. Need your help to fix it so that I can atleast use the wifi and multimedia functions.. Meanwhile I’m trying to get some patch for phone, I can pass it over to you if I get something..

    Thanks for your post, I was so busy within my travels from Saudi Arabia to Syria couples of days ago.

    This iPhone has been purchased from US and chipped to Riyadh. It has no Phone function enabled because it is locked to AT&T network only. This iPhone used as 5 GB iPod with internet browsing function via Wireless network.

  14. August 5, 2008 My original iPhone works just fine here in Riyadh. Been here about a month, uses either AlJawal or Mobily. It is not ‘hacked’, purely off-the-shelf. I subscribe to ATTs international package to get a slight discount on roaming but it is not necessary. Be sure to turn data roaming off when you are not sending or receiving data.
