I was reading Arab News this morning, and found this funny story. A Saudi man lost a court case when he asked to be reunited with his wife and children because he has brought a satellite dish into the house. Well, actually, this is not a funny story. This is a sad story, indeed. And we were just talking about our legal system! Do we need to change anything about it? Nothing! Not a single thing!

It’s yet another story about a Saudi woman taking the wheel to save her husband after he collapsed. When are they going to allow women to drive, so we can get rid of this kind of stories? Ufff.

Essam Al-Ghalib, the Saudi journalist who helped producing the interview with Rania Al-Baz for the Oprah Winfrey Show, has written an open letter to Oprah. He said that including the interview in the wrong context was “irresponsible and was the clearest example of media bias and propaganda” he has ever seen. Al-Ghalb is asking Oprah’s permission to release the one-hour-interview to an Arab television network in order to undo some of the damage Oprah did to Rania’s, and Saudi women’s, reputation. I don’t think she will give him permission to do so, and even if she gave him, that will do nothing.
