In less than a week, the ministry of Islamic affairs have canceled (Arabic) their decision to control the use of sound amplifiers in mosques. The newspapers say this was the result of pressure by citizens who asked the ministry to take such action. Who the hell are these citizens? How many are they? Where do they come from? No one knows. Let’s just call them The Forces of Darkness. And everything nice I said about this ministry, I take it back. Apparently, that was too much to ask from them.

A few month ago the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf (trnslt?) sounded their interest in the same project then it just died! Could there have been mutual influence in the Sunni institutions on both sides of the Great Rift!
I’m fighting my own war here with the unlawful shabby mosque that was built near our home. Do you have this, problem in your country?
