Sick Minds

Allow me to paraphrase Farah this time: Allow me to poke!
Arab News reports that a “telephone and Internet campaign complaining about women in the workplace has prompted communications provider Mobily to shut its women’s call center and consider having separate telephone numbers for men’s and women’s services.”

I have read previously a fatwa on this, but never thought it would emerge to a campaign that would actually force the company to take such action. I can’t believe that those lunatics started calling women to harass, and insult them. What kind of sick minds these people have?

  1. I’m not shocked at all. My husband recently hired a saudi woman as a receptionist for his all male office. One of the first things I said that if some pervert calls, even though it is a buisness, she will have to handle the very first one in a firm way so word goes out. Alhamdulillah no one has bothered her and she is doing a great job. But it was a concern that someone might try to hit on her, bad luck for that person her husband works in the office too.

speaking of sick people, I had a heavy breather calling my phone this weekend. Whats even more sick than the thought of someone gratifying themselves as I answer a phone, is that my children answer the phone too.

Mr. pervert man if your reading I installed caller ID. If you call again I will hunt you down like the dog you are!!

Pls. check this out. It has something to do with the Fatwa issue, and unfortunately I could not post it in its appropriate place below for some technical reason. The article clearly shows how damaging such Fatwas could be to the national economy.

  3. This is just sad…these men who call up women like this should be ashamed of themselves. Why resort to harrassment like little kids? If they feel strongly about it, talk to the employer directly through letters, but I guess these conservatibes are not yet intelligent enough to do that. They need to move beyond their small little world they have created and see te bigger picture!

  4. is al itihad the second company in Saudi?

if its the one, then I think some kind of bad publicity is being spread here just to make competetion harder for STC!

  5. Princess, I don’t think it’s about trashing another company. It’s about the mentality that makes these people call a number and insult the person on the other line just because he/she have a different opinion.
