I knew for a while that the Anime culture is emerging in Saudi Arabia. However, I never thought I’m going to read about it in Saudi newspapers. Several boys and girls spoke to Arab News about their passion for this Japanese art.

I actually know the FATHER of Saudi Anime art who is from Qateef and is in Japan now on a scholarship studying the art and using one of the premier cartooning software (Cambridge Animation Systems’ Animo) to bring his art to life.
We should all be proud of Bassam Al-Tarrah for following on on his ambition. He is the BEST cartoonist and Manga artist I have ever known in our small sphere of artistic expression.
He’s got another 2 year to go, and hope that when he comes back home, he will start his own animation studio which I am sure he will.
I’ll try to post some of his creations when I get them from him for everyone to see what telent lay hidden amongst us.
