As much as I liked the grand mufti’s denouncement to the London blasts, I don’t think he made the right decision when he decided to criticize the Saudi football clubs for their costly competitiveness over the national team striker Yasser al-Qahtani. Of course, the grand mufti has the right to criticize whatever he thinks is wrong. But I think someone in his position should not have let himself into the world of Saudi professional football, where religion and ethics don’t mean much. It’s a market. It’s all about the money.
