Dr. Shorouq al-Fawwaz writes about two incidents she had last week. The first was when her Asian driver caused a car accident with another family car driven by another Asian driver, “more stupid than mine,” she said. What happened right after this is that more than 20 Saudi young men accumulated at the scene to show off and stare at the families. Really disturbing and embarrassing.

The second incident was in the next morning on her way to work. At the intersection of Dhabab St. with Thalatheen St, a black GMC car blocked the street. Two young men got off the car and started dancing in the street. “They looked euphoric, like they were drunk,” she writes. Dr. Al-Fawwaz does not like the way young men of Riyadh spend their summer nights. “What should we do to save them from the empty nights of Riyadh’s summer?” Any suggestions?
