Arab News: “The Kingdom’s grand mufti yesterday strongly denounced the deadly blasts that rocked London, saying Islam strictly prohibits the killing of innocent people. He also censured the terrorists for tarnishing the image of Islam by attaching their heinous crimes to the religion.”

Dr. Shorouq al-Fawwaz writes about two incidents she had last week. The first was when her Asian driver caused a car accident with another family car driven by another Asian driver, “more stupid than mine,” she said. What happened right after this is that more than 20 Saudi young men accumulated at the scene to show off and stare at the families. Really disturbing and embarrassing.
The second incident was in the next morning on her way to work. At the intersection of Dhabab St. with Thalatheen St, a black GMC car blocked the street. Two young men got off the car and started dancing in the street. “They looked euphoric, like they were drunk,” she writes. Dr. Al-Fawwaz does not like the way young men of Riyadh spend their summer nights. “What should we do to save them from the empty nights of Riyadh’s summer?” Any suggestions?

I’ve been looking for Arabic blogs (I mean those who write in Arabic) that have comments on the London bombings, and I could not find any. Can anyone help me to find that?

Elaph says that Abdul-Rahman Al-Husein, the host of a talk show on the Saudi Sports Channel (Channel 3), was banned from the show after some of his guests on last week’s episode offended the religious police. I watched parts of that show, and I can’t recall any offence to the religious police. The guests were talking about actual encounters they had with the religious police, and I don’t think they meant to offend anyone. Is the religious police a taboo that no one is allowed to talk about?
