These are amusing and droll.
The irony is greater with the “Prom Song” because it involves a much greater contrast with our own lives.
A minor daughter dressed in a short dress asks a young man to dance with her, and is rejected.
A pattern of activity that is of course completely impossible in our society for multiple reasons.
As such, it fascinates, like reading about extraterrestriales.
