According to multiple sources, Sami al-Jaber, captain of Saudi national football team and al-Hilal club, will be named Goodwill Ambassador for the UN. Al-Jaber has refused to comment on the news, but his agent has confirmed there were meeting between the player and officials of the UN office in Riyadh. Mona Abu Sulaiman, a lecturer in KAAU and talk show co-host, is also expected to be named along with al-Jaber.

    He is the first Arab footballer to gain this honor, and we are proud of him. We are proud of Mona, too.
